Presentation
The "Musée de la Vie d’Autrefois" will reopen this winter in a brand new building, adjacent to the old town hall (1682), which has also been restored for the occasion.
On display: traditional costumes, utensils and tools, old photographs, and more.
Created in 1977 by enthusiastic locals and run by the ASPECTS association, it is located in the heart of the iconic area around the unmissable Saint-Saturnin Church.
What you could (re)discover this winter:
- A ‘kitchen’ as it would have been found in the 1900s, including characters in traditional Saint Sorlin costume surrounded by everyday utensils such as spinning wheels and butter churns.
- Samples of lace, ribbon, headdresses, photos of traditional costumes, etc.
- Tools related to agropastoral life: clog-making tools, a ‘van’, equipment for thatching roofs, etc.
- Lots of photos and information about this way of life, which lasted for several centuries before evolving into tourism with the creation of the resort...
