IN WINTER : Please note that the Col de la Croix de fer is closed.
Access via Saint Jean de Maurienne 23 kms away, take the A43 motorway, exit 27, then follow the signs for ‘Vallée de l'Arvan’.

Compulsory equipment :
⚠ From 1 November to 31 March, special equipment is compulsory in mountainous areas, so you must :

- either have metal or textile snow chains in your vehicle (to equip at least two drive wheels)
- or be fitted with four winter tyres marked with the ‘3PMSF’ symbol.

IN SUMMER :
- Access via Saint Jean de Maurienne, 23 kms away, take the A43 motorway, exit 27, then follow the signs for ‘Vallée de l'Arvan’.

- From Sainte Marie de Cuines, take the A43 motorway, exit 26, then the D927 towards Col du Glandon and the D926 towards Col de la Croix de Fer / Saint Sorlin d'Arves.

- Access from the Isère Col de la Croix de Fer : from Allemond RD526 then RD926 via the Col du Glandon and Col de la Croix de Fer.

Last petrol stations : Station service des Arves La Condamine (7kms) Saint Jean de Maurienne (23kms), Sainte Marie de Cuines and Allemond (40kms)

Before setting off, check traffic conditions and how busy the roads are, in summer and winter. Weekends, especially during school holidays, tend to be very busy.
