Discover the history of our planet by exploring the rocks of the Arvan valley on a hike open to all types of enthusiasts, including the very young !
This activity involves discovering the Alps and their history by observing the rocks that make up the ground and those used in the construction of traditional buildings. During this outing, you'll learn the origin of each rock and quickly situate them in the Alpine landscape. We'll look at the evolution of the earth over the last 300 million years (visible in the Arvan), while observing the panorama before our eyes. This knowledge will give you the opportunity to discover, among other things, plants, fossils and crystals during your hikes. Meet on Friday morning at 9.15am in front of the Chal Tourist Office in Saint Jean d'Arves.
Different kinds of rocks and cristal that can be seen in the valley are available for observation.
