Prés Plans Festival

2026 Programme:
• 9.30 am Mass at the Prés Plans Chapel
• 10.00 am Bread sale by the Soldanelles
• 10.30 am Tomme cheese-making demonstration with the Vallée des Arves Cooperative Cheese Dairy
• 11.00 am Book signing for *Sorlinette* and beer-themed puppet show at the refreshment stand
• 11.30 am Traditional dances by the Soldanelles
• 12 noon Sausage-slicing competition
• 12 pm Lunch provided by the Étendard Ski Club; refreshments on sale in aid of the ACCA
• 2 pm Alpine horn performance with Zian des Alpes
• 2.30 pm Traditional dances by the Soldanelles
• 3.00 pm Butter-churning in a churn, ‘Histoires de bouts de bois’ with Zian, ‘Attachez vos ceintures’ and bobbin lace-making demonstration with the Musée de la vie d’autrefois
• 3.30 pm Herding dog demonstration
• 4.15 pm Dances by the Soldanelles, costume removal and presentation
• 5.00 pm Slipper-throwing
• All day: market stalls, accordion music, wood carving, ponies, mini farm, vintage tractors, tour of the chapel, face painting, mini excavator, wooden games, refreshment stand.

Practical information:
Access:
• On foot from the Plan du Moulin car park, approximately 45 minutes
Passing through the uninhabited, shaded hamlet of Les Vachers, with its old school and cross dating from 1784.
• On foot from the Prés Plans car park, approximately 30 minutes.
• A shuttle train service runs from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm for people with reduced mobility and young children, from the ‘Les Gentianes’ stop to Les Prés Plans.

Meal:
• Starter, Diot polenta, Beaufort, country-style apple and blueberry tart
• Price: €20 per adult and €12 for children under 12

And don’t miss the joint festival of the villages of Saint Sorlin d’Arves and Saint Jean d’Arves on Friday 14 August in Saint Jean d’Arves, organised by local associations! A meal, drinks stand, entertainment and a dance are all on the programme!
