Presentation
This route links three legendary Tour de France passes: the Glandon, the Croix de Fer and the Mollard. It is one of the most difficult climbs in Savoie, but also one of the richest in terms of landscape and local heritage.
This legendary route offers exceptional panoramic views of the Aiguilles d'Arves, the Pic de l'Etendard and its glacier.
The circuit features milestones on the main climbs. The road surface is in average condition, and is very busy in summer. There are numerous water and refreshment points along the route; the nearest repair shops are in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne and Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves.
Several stops are a must: the Col du Mollard with its incredible view of the Aiguilles d'Arves and the nearby lake, the Col de la Croix de Fer with the Aiguilles d'Arves in the distance and a magnificent view of Mont Blanc, and finally the famous Col du Glandon. Each of the towns you pass through also boasts a rich heritage of baroque architecture, gastronomy and craftsmanship.
Please note: The level of difficulty is valid for people using a muscle bike.
