Here are a few tips to ensure your stay with your dog in Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves goes smoothly!
• Look for accommodation that accepts pets and contact the owners in advance. Tick the “Pets welcome” box when searching online or look for the corresponding icon in our brochures.
• Don’t forget to bring your dog’s documents in case of any incident. If needed, the nearest vets are in Saint Jean de Maurienne.

Diverse information for winter:
• The walks you can take with your dog are: the Prés Plans trail (shared with the dog sledding activity) and the “Sur les traces de Sorlinette” trail.
• Keep your dog on a lead and keep your distance during your walks if you come across the dog sleds that are in operation on the estate.
• Muzzles are compulsory for Category 1 and 2 dogs.
• You may take the shuttle buses running through the village with your dog, provided it is kept on a lead.
• Dogs are not permitted on the slopes or on the ski lifts.
• Dog-sitting services are available. Please contact the Tourist Office for further details.
• Please dispose of your dog’s waste in the bins provided for this purpose. Bags are available, and bins are located throughout the village and at the start of certain walking trails. You can download a map of the village showing the designated locations.

• Keep your dog on a lead: this helps to protect the local flora and fauna and prevents the risk of disease transmission between dogs and wild animals.
• Keep your distance during your walks if you come across flocks of sheep being guarded by livestock guard dogs.
• Before setting off on a hike, make sure your dog is physically fit enough.

Essential items to take on a walk:
• Water and food (remember to keep your dog hydrated);
• A lead or harness;
• A poo bag;
• A first-aid kit specifically for dogs (including a tick remover and sun cream);
• A towel that you can dampen to cool your dog down.
