Founded on the initiative of a handful of farmers, the "Coopérative Laitière de la Vallée des Arves" was established in October 1965 with the aim of organising the collection and sale of milk for the villages of Albiez le Vieux, Saint Jean d'Arves and Saint Sorlin d'Arves.
Across the Beaufort region, the maintenance of a thriving agricultural sector in our valley enables the upkeep of over 2 000 hectares, which serve as a playground for winter sports (skiing, snowshoeing...) as well as summer activities (hiking, exploring the local flora and fauna...).
Farmers are often multi-taskers. After the morning milking, you’ll likely find them teaching you the art of skiing, helping to run the ski lifts or guiding you to discover the secrets of the mountain pastures...
They’ll then return to their herd for the evening milking and offer you the fruit of the high mountains : Beaufort cheese !
Dairy cooperative schedule :
• Free guided tours of the cooperative from 9am to 11.30am (except Sundays and public holidays)

Opening period
From 27/04 to 03/07/2026 from Monday to Friday between 9 am and 12 pm. On bank holidays and weekends between 9 am and 12 pm and between 3 pm and 6 pm.
From 04/07 to 29/08/2026 daily between 9 am and 12 pm and between 2.30 pm and 7 pm.
From 12/12/2026 to 10/04/2027 daily between 9 am and 12 pm and between 2.30 pm and 7 pm.
