Pays de Maurienne has already equipped 16 routes the system timing measurement TIMTOO ® Timing with the Col de la Croix de Fer. This technology solution allows you to time your ascent to the passes and mounted remarkable Maurienne, but also elsewhere in France and abroad.

Col de la Croix de Fer

Classic Tour de France and the Marmotte, the neck of the Iron Cross, passed 13 times through the turn, connects the valley of the Arvan than Oisans but also to the valley of the Maurienne Villards via the Col du Glandon, which lies 4 km

Topped by the peak of the Standard (3664 m) and its glacier, the Col de la Croix de Fer opens a magnificent view of the Aiguilles d'Arves and Arvan valley on one side and on the summits of Massif des Sept Laux's west side.

The Tour de France has borrowed 15 times the pass since 1947. Until 1986 he was ranked 1st in class and out-category from 1989.

Advices

Here are some tips and good reflexes to be considered for rolling serenely on the roads of Maurienne
 
1. At all times wear a helmet.
2. Never ride several abreast.
3. Do not attack from the outset to difficult routes, start loops with less than 300 m of vertical (green routes). Mounted in the sustained use of small developments and adjust your pace to the length of the ramp to climb.
4. Always carry water and something to help you out.
5. In the mountains the weather can change very quickly, remember to bring a windbreaker and a small polar sudden drops in temperature.
